Instructional Design | University Teaching | Interactive Learning
This eLearning module was developed retrospectively from materials originally created for in-class teaching during the shift to online learning in the pandemic. It addressed a key gap in university business education: while students had experience with traditional presentations, many lacked the skills needed to engage audiences effectively in virtual settings. As online meetings and presentations became a permanent part of professional life, the programme aimed to help future professionals communicate confidently and deliver engaging, effective presentations in digital environments.

The software has some limitations, such as the inability to prevent learners from progressing after unsuccessfully completing tasks. However, since it is free, it remains a practical choice. I plan to use it in the future, as I believe my current students will find it useful. The blended learning aspect is essential, as many tasks focus on recognition rather than actual recall of information. While I could have used Storyline to create more interactive elements that reinforce recall, it was important to ensure the content functioned as a cohesive whole. In the future, AI could potentially be used to assess the final presentations, providing more personalized feedback and deeper evaluation of learners’ skills.
